Senate Fellowship Program - How to Apply

Candidates seeking consideration as Heinz Senate Fellows must be already active in an aging-related field and display the potential for future contributions to that area following a year of hands-on experience as a Fellow

Applicants are expected to submit a packet for consideration that includes:

• A current curriculum vitae;
• A one-page biographical sketch;
• Names, addresses and phone numbers of at least three
  professional or educational references. These references will
  be asked to comment on the applicant’s qualifications and
  potential;
• Brief essays (300 words) by the candidate on each of the
  following topics:

1. What are your major strengths and qualifications?
2. What have been your most significant contributions to your
    field and why do you consider them significant?
3. What specific legislative or policy proposal would you make
     in your field and explain why you think it is significant and
    why it should be supported?
4. What are your expectations for use of your Heinz Fellowship
    experience in the near and longer-term future?

All applications, including required supporting materials, must be received by the Heinz Family Foundation no later than April 10 each year. Submissions become the property of the Heinz Family Foundation.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions, supporting materials cannot be returned.

All applications should be sent to:
