Women's Economic Security

The Heinz Family Philanthropies holds a straightforward, unambiguous position on the subject of women's economic security. After a lifetime of work both inside and outside the home, women should be able to look forward to a secure and comfortable retirement.

Unfortunately, for too many American women, poverty in the golden years has a distinctly feminine face.

The Heinz Family Philanthropies sponsor initiatives designed to educate and empower women to save and prepare for the future. It also examines the larger issue of a retirement and pension system that remains unresponsive (and, in many cases, simply ill-suited) to address their particular needs.
