The work of the Teresa and H. John Heinz III Foundation focuses on health and the environment. Our work supports a wide variety of events, activities, and programs. One of our premier programs is the annual Women's Health and the Environment Conference. This conference series explores the impact of our physical, psychological, and economic environments on the health and well-being of women. An exciting foundation event was the Campus Earth Summit. While the event took place several years ago, its findings continue to serve as a blueprint for environmental action on college and university campuses nationwide. Additional foundation programs include: The Teresa Heinz Scholars for Environmental Research — a program that provides doctoral dissertation and master's thesis or project enhancement support on emerging environmental problems The H. John Heinz III Charitable Trust Small Grants for Archeological Research in Mexico, Central America, and South America — a one-of-a-kind grants program for Latin American archaeology Second Nature — a program to educate college and university faculty about the relevance of environmental issues to their curricula Health Week — a PBS-produced weekly television magazine program with a strong focus on environmental and women's health interests EnvironMinute — a radio public-service announcement program broadcast in more than 100 countries Rachel's Daughters — an HBO-broadcast documentary on breast cancer Women's Retirement Initiatives World Eco Minute — an internationally acclaimed series of public-service messages on environmental themes—created in cooperation with the Earth Communications Office in Hollywood, CA United Negro College Fund Endowed University Chairs Women's Health and the Environment Back to Top
