World Eco Minute

Founded in 1989, the Earth Communications Office (ECO) uses the power of communications to improve the global environment. Together, with entertainment industry professionals, it creates public-service campaigns that educate and inspire citizen environmental action worldwide.

The ECO board of directors is comprised of leaders in film, television, music, advertising, and virtually all aspects of communications. Some of ECO's most prominent Board members include: actors Kevin Bacon, Ed Begley, Jr., Pierce Brosnan, Cindy Crawford, Woody Harrelson, Joshua Jackson, Sharon Lawrence, Susan Sarandon, and Patrick Stewart; and producers Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Debra Hill. ECO's campaigns have been endorsed by the White House, U.S. Congressional leaders, the head of the United Nations Environment Programme, and by scientific and environmental leaders.

ECO's public-service announcements are broadcast on movie screens, television, and radio, and through a unique network of ancillary outlets including airlines, stadiums, retail outlets, schools, hotels, home videos, CD ROMs, and the Internet. "World ECO Minute" is a daily radio campaign airing in more than 100 countries,
